Selection Process & Examination

Preliminary Examination (Objective Test)

The preliminary exam, scheduled for August 2024, is an initial screening test with objective-type questions on reasoning, numerical ability, and English language skills.

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to
be decided by IBPS. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided
by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for the Online Main
examination.

Main Examination (Objective Test)

Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will move on to the main exam, scheduled for October 2024. This exam covers reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, English language, and computer knowledge.

Pre-Examination Training (PET)

Shortlisted candidates may undergo pre-examination training (PET) to help them prepare better for the exams. This training is scheduled from August 12 to 17, 2024.

Provisional Allotment

Based on their performance in the main exam and their preferences, candidates will be provisionally allotted to a participating bank. This is subject to the availability of vacancies and candidate preferences.

Nationality Requirements

To apply, candidates must be:

  • An Indian citizen, or Nepal or Bhutan, or A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1962 for permanent settlement, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from certain countries to permanently settle in India.
